Saturday Open Thread: Hoping for Some Help Edition

Seven Premier League matches on the day, with Liverpool relying on surprises if their rivals for the top four are going to drop any points.

Newcastle are a shell of a football club, perfectly content to go through the motions given that they're comfortably midtable, and its upon them that Liverpool will rely for some help today. Neat. They host an Arsenal side (3:00PM GMT/11:00AM EDT) that came close to advancing in the Champions League midweek after Manchester City and Andre Wisdom's West Brom (12:45PM GMT/8:45AM EDT) get the day started in England. Leicester City and Burnley could spring surprises when they visit Spurs and Southampton, respectively.

For Liverpool loanees there should be minutes domestically and abroad; Joao Teixeira could face Blackburn Rovers, while Sheyi Ojo and Jerome Sinclair will be in the running for Wigan when they host Bolton (3:00PM GMT/11:00AM EDT). Luis Alberto will be in the squad for Malaga at Rayo Vallecano, and in France Tiago Ilori and Bordeaux head to Toulouse.
