Sunday Open Thread: Fear and Loathing in Old Trafford Edition

Big day for Liverpool's top four hopes as Spurs visit Manchester United and Chelsea host Southampton, while out on the continent there's a handful of loanees to keep track of.

Some serious implications for Liverpool today, kicking off with Southampton's visit to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea (1:30PM GMT/9:30AM EDT). The hosts were miserable against PSG midweek but responded well with some excellent passive-aggressive Instagramming, so it will be interesting to see if that creates any momentum for the least likable side in the known galaxy. Later in the day Spurs head to Manchester United (4:00PM GMT/12:00PM EDT), with the result going a long way to determining where Liverpool can possibly finish tomorrow if they get a result at Liberty Stadium.

Four loanees could see time on the day, with Luis Alberto and Iago Aspas potentially in action off the bench in La Liga, while Divock Origi and Tiago Ilori should get minutes in Ligue One.
