Rumour Mongering: Rabble Over Rossiter Exit

The Daily Mirror celebrated Liverpool's victory at Stamford Bridge by hurling journalistic refuse against a wall. What stuck this time? Jordan Rossiter maybe leaving Liverpool.

Of the things a football fan has to be aware of, knowing the right level of energy to devote to a rumor can be a very useful thing. Why cut into perfectly good hours that should be spent doing such great activities as watching extended highlights of Jürgen Klopp's Liverpool beating Chelsea yesterday. Or humming You'll Never Walk Alone while frosting up the all Red sugar cookies commemorating Jürgen Klopp's Liverpool putting the boot in to Chelsea yesterday. Or refining the exact choreography of one's Flying Scissor, Hidden Guppercut celebration to perform after once again watching Jürgen Klopp's Liverpool tuning Chelsea up yesterday.

But of course, what good does a sense for a crap rumor do a person if there are no crap rumors to suss out? Enter the Daily Mirror and their report that Jordan Rossiter may have a few Champions League clubs going for him in the future (future) future. Apparently, Rossiter is in the final year of the first professional contract he signed for Liverpool. According to the Mirror, since that deal runs out next Summer, as they see it, clubs could do a lot worse than trying to get a promising 18-year-old midfielder in on a Bosman free transfer.

The flip side to the Mirror's baseless mongering is that it's absurdly difficult to imagine a scenario where Rossiter actually does walk from the club next summer. Say it's because Liverpool are his hometown, boyhood club; or maybe because Klopp is a manager that gives youths a chance; or just because Liverpool are as likely as anyone to offer him an attractive wage packet and potential playing time. Regardless, with that out of the way, it's back to your regularly scheduled Klopp-themed pancake breakfast.
