Sakho and France, Italy taking on a club side, and an England Versus The World charity match for UNICEF and Soccer Aid. Sounds like fun.

Today's matches aren't as interesting as yesterday's batch, but there is some intrigue today. We've got an international friendly, a top-ten international side taking on a Brazilian club team, and a high-profile charity match are the leading matches of the day.

Also, for those of a more club football frame of mind, there's a couple of interesting MLS matches today. The LA Galaxy are taking on Chivas USA in the "SuperClasico" between MLS' two Los Angeles based clubs at 8 PM EST, preceded by the big Northeast derby at 5 PM EST when the New England Revolution host Thierry Henry and the New York Red Bulls.

It's Mamadou Sakho time! France hasn't left the continent yet, and are playing one last match in Lille against a decent Jamaican side. France still have some issues to iron out, but they should still be able to walk through Group D and in to the knockout rounds without too much effort. Today we see what kind of progress they've made, and watching Sakho is always all kinds of fun.

There's no Liverpool action here, but watching an international side take on an in-season club team is always an interesting dynamic. Making it more interesting is that Cesare Prandelli has already announced the lineup that Italy will use, and it's decidedly a B team lineup that could line up in any of a few different formations. Does the match mean anything? No. But it'll be fascinating to see how it shakes out, especially with Prandelli doing everything he can to shake the "Italy plays boring defensive football" cliche.

Like charities? Enjoy random collections of sporting legends and celebrities performing an athletic circus show? Then this is the match for you. UNICEF and Soccer Aid are putting on an England Versus The World charity soccer match hosted at Old Trafford with the goal of raising money to get food, water, and medicine to children in need. The England team is managed by Big Sam, and among the legendary players will be Jamie Carragher and Jamie Redknapp, who will be facing down a Jose Mourinho lead World team that will feature Alessandro del Piero, Clarence Seedorf, and Edwin Van Der Sar.
