That Liverpool are in for Sevilla left back Alberto Moreno isn't open to question. They are, and are believed to have bid around £16M for the 21-year-old Spaniard's services. Things get a little less certain, though, once you move past the basic facts: Liverpool are interested, Liverpool have bid, Sevilla are willing to sell, and an eventual deal remains likely.
The latest rumour to add to that more solid information comes from the Sevilla end of things, where a few local journalists have today suggested that Moreno has already bought a home in Liverpool as he prepares to head to England with the deal imminent. Further rumours suggest he has actually leased a house—and that the house is Luis Alberto's.
As far as rumours go it add up to making a certain sense. Both players came up through the Sevilla youth system and Alberto is expected to head back to Andalusia this season on loan with Malaga the likely destination. That also means it's the kind of rumour that is so sensibly convenient somebody would have had to come up with it even if it wasn't true.
Meanwhile, suggestions Tottenham were prepared to offer £14M plus Roberto Soldado on loan have fallen off as quickly as they appeared, with multiple sources insisting Spurs will in fact not be bidding for the young left back and that they have no intention on shipping out Soldado only a season after he arrived from Valencia for a rather hefty £26M fee.
Back in Spain, Real Madrid signing Fabio Coentrao to a new deal would seem to rule out the Spanish giants going in for Moreno, this despite that they were rumoured to be monitoring his situation and showed some interest in him last summer. All told, it adds up to Alberto Moreno inching closer to the Liverpool move that's seemed likely for some time now.
Probably, at least, as in the end and despite the raft of new rumours surrounding him, the known facts remain about the same as they were when the week began.
