Open Thread: Villa 'Til We Die Edition

It could be one of Liverpool's most important games of the season and Liverpool have nothing to do with it. Join us in keeping an eye on Aston Villa v. Manchester City.

Ross Kinnaird

City must lose one of their final two matches of the season or draw both for Liverpool to have a shot at winning their first title of the Premier League era. The first chance for that to happen comes tonight at 7:45PM BST/2:45PM EST when City host Aston Villa. To call City favourites would be an understatement, but then Liverpool were heavy favourites against Crystal Palace on Monday and Chelsea were heavy favourites against Norwich over the weekend.

Villa are mathematically safe in 14th at the moment, which could as easily work for them as against them. On one hand they have nothing to play for, but on the other they won't be under pressure heading into a match that would be daunting were their survival still in doubt. In England, the match will be shown on SkySports; in the United States it's on NBCSN. For other viewing options, check out LiveSoccerTV.
