Champions League Open Thread: Classically Poised Edition

The Champions League gets back under way today with Real Madrid taking a narrow lead to Bavaria for the second leg of their semi-final against Bayern.

Paul Gilham

It's the classically poised, evenly balaned knockout round scenario. Real Madrid have a goal to their credit from the first leg; Bayern Munich have the advantage of playing in front of their home crowd in the return leg. Few would be overly confident picking a favourite, but most will at least be expecting an entertaining spectacle—in stark difference to the anti-football that's likely to come tomorrow night at Stamford Bridge. Whoever advances, though, will be the favourite for many when the final rolls around in a few weeks. As always, the match kicks off at 7:45PM BST/2:45PM EST.
