Watch: Suspension Doesn't Keep Henderson Out of the Mix

The loss of Jordan Henderson for three of the four remaining Premier League matches was a cruel blow for both player and team; the energetic midfielder cemented his place in Brendan Rodgers' starting eleven in the final months of the 2012-2013 season, and prior to his sending off in the 3-2 win over Manchester City, he'd missed only a matter of minutes in the entire 2013-2014 campaign. With Daniel Sturridge limping off earlier, Liverpool were suddenly left without two of their more influential players when they'd seemingly need them most.

Joe Allen and Lucas filled in well against Norwich despite the latter tiring visibly in the second half, but neither could completely fill in the niche Henderson has carved out for himself. The narrative's well-worn at this point; from cast-off to future captain, it's been a joy to watch Jordan Henderson mature as a player and squad member, and there's no question that he's one of the most important players to emerge during Rodgers' brief reign as manager.

So it's not surprising that, in lieu of being able to actually play, he's involving himself in every other aspect, anxiously awaiting the final day of the season when he's back among the picking. Just like the rest of us.
