Liverpool entered October hoping to find their footing after a shaky start to the season, but injuries and continuing struggles at the front and back mean the month ends much as it began. Still, it wasn't all negatives to pick through in Liverpool's six October matches, and looking back, we want to know who you think Liverpool's Player of the Month was.
Adam Lallana started strong and made an early case as Liverpool's most dangerous attacking threat. On the other side, after struggling to start the season—and the month—Philippe Coutinho ended it with four straight Man of the Match nods from Liverpool Offside readers, and on the strength of that has to be considered the favourite to earn Player of the Month honours.
Must Reads
After those two, though, the up and down nature of October was reflected in how many different players made it into the top five at least once. All told, 15 players made at least one appearance, including Dejan Lovren, Steven Gerrard, Alberto Moreno, Joe Allen, Emre Can, Rickie Lambert, Fabio Borini, and Mario Balotelli.
Handing out five points for man of the match and one for finishing fifth, though, gives us seven players who earned at least five points: Coutinho (20 points), Adam Lallana (12), Jordan Henderson (9), Raheem Sterling (8), Simon Mignolet (7), Javi Manquillo (6), and Martin Skrtel (5). Now it's your turn to tell us which of those should be Liverpool's October player of the month.
