Saturday Open Thread: Top of the Table Edition

Normal service resumes across England and Europe, with the day's biggest match taking place in La Liga as Atletico Madrid host Barcelona with the teams level on points at the top.

Finally back to regular schedules after the hectic holiday period, things are settling in for a busy Saturday across the continent. There's plenty on offer in England--Chelsea face a difficult trip to Hull City in the opener, Cardiff and Fulham host West Ham and Sunderland respectively in relegation battles, Everton and Spurs face relatively easy home dates against Norwich and Crystal Palace, and Manchester United will hope to avoid suffering their second loss at home to Swansea in the span of a week.

The best bit of the day comes from Spain, though, with Atletico Madrid hosting Barcelona in La Liga. The reigning champions are ahead on goal difference, but a win for the hosts could propel them into the season's second half and, if we're spouting cliches about, see a changing of the guard. Suso will have a chance to get back into the starting eleven in league for Almeria when they visit the San Mames.
