Sunday Open Thread: Pay Attention to Other Things

New, comments

Thankfully a busy and relatively intriguing Sunday full of football rounds off the weekend, providing something of a palate cleanser after Saturday's disappointment.

After yesterday morning's foolishness I pretty much checked out--the recap proved a labor of misery, and any further sports viewing on the day was spoiled. Thankfully the rest of the day had been planned full of distractions elsewhere, as yesterday's result for Liverpool was one that still feels unsettling. Not nearly good enough in any aspect, and largely not bothered to do anything about it.

I think today we can at least watch the football again without flashbacks to shoulder shrugs and indifference, and there's a handful of watchable matches in store if you're interested. The Premier League's got a somewhat busy schedule, with the Manchester Derby at the Etihad and both Arsenal and Spurs in action against Stoke and Cardiff respectively. Distraction's the word of the day, but depending on those results, Liverpool could end up as low as sixth in the table after starting Saturday top.

Serie A also has a number of intriguing matchups led by a derby, as Roma and Lazio will play out the Derby della Capitale at the Stadio Olimpico and Milan host Rafa Benitez and Napoli. There's also the Main Moscow Derby in Russia between Spartak and CSKA to follow, and a host of other matches across the continent worth checking in on.

LiveSoccer.tv has a schedule along with live and repeat viewings on offer through legal providers, and NBCSN/Live Extra will have the Premier League action stateside. Check your local listings and the LiveSoccer schedule page to catch up, and feel free to talk about any and all of it below. Reminder that links to illegal streaming sites will be removed immediately and repeat offenders will be forced to watch yesterday's loss on repeat. We're not messing around.

Hope you enjoy the day.
