Melwood may not yet be up to its usual level of pre-season busyness, but for one man living deep in the recesses of the training facility's medical centre, the high point of his year has come early. Liverpool's rapid fire signings in the last few days have undoubtedly meant an increased workload for our tireless hero, and things are about to get a little busier now that Simon Mignolet is meant to arrive today for his medical. Zaf Iqbal, start your finger exercises: it's show time.
From ESPN FC:
Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet will undergo a medical with Liverpool on Tuesday: http://t.co/jjXZklQ3kR #LFC #SAFC

Mignolet's transfer has been refreshingly straightforward with regards to dealing with Sunderland and Mignolet's agents (his real agents), and there have been zero twists since he emerged as an incredibly likely target just ten short days ago. While there may be personnel-related dramas, manufactured or otherwise, still to come, it's nice when the business end of a deal manages to be problem free.
As a sidenote, our colleagues over at Roker Report crowned Mignolet as Sunderland's Player of the Season for 2012/13, so that's a lovely read on our new signing from those more familiar with him than most. Thanks to PhoenixTears for the tip!
