Monday Open Thread: Come on Chelsea? Edition

Liverpool's chances to spend Christmas top of the league will come down to Arsenal and Chelsea at the Emirates. There's also the second half of WAF Widad Fez v. WAC Casablanca if the Botola Pro is more your thing.

The final match before Christmas, and the big one of the round for the neutral, sees Jose Mourinho's Chelsea side head to the Emirates to take on Arsenal. Arsenal can leapfrog Liverpool and go top of the table with a victory today, but a loss or draw mean Brendan Rodgers and company will celebrate being top of the table over Christmas for the first time since 2008-09. This, suffice to say, would be a rather nice present for Liverpool fans.

A draw would pull Arsenal level on points but with Liverpool holding the edge on goal differential, while a win for Chelsea would pull them level but again see Liverpool top on the tiebreaker—at least if Chelsea don't win this evening by a ten goal margin. Arsenal are coming off three matches without a victory, and will be looking to rebound from a 6-3 defeat at Manchester City, while Chelsea lost on the road to last-place Sunderland last week.

The match kicks off at 8PM GMT/3PM EST and will be televised on Sky Sports 1 in the UK and NBCSN/NBC Sports Live Extra in the US.
