Suso Makes Spain U21 Debut While Henderson Captains England to Victory

Looking beyond Liverpool's senior internationals, on Tuesday evening the club had four players involved in U21 action—and most importantly, all now return to Liverpool unscathed.

While most remain focused on the senior international action taking place this week, Liverpool's young squad meant a number of players to keep track of in U21 matches on Tuesday. The most noteworthy development of the day's action came for Suso, who made his debut for the Spanish U21 side as they cruised to a 3-1 friendly win over Italy.

He may have only come on after 83 minutes, but for the 18-year-old attacking midfielder it represents another milestone in a season that has seen him sign a new long term contract with Liverpool and quickly establish himself in Brendan Rodgers' first team plans.

Meanwhile, Jordan Henderson captained the English U21s, registering an assist and displaying all the confidence he has often seemed to lack at the club level as he led his side to a 2-0 victory over Northern Ireland

Defenders Jack Robinson and Andre Wisdom also started for England , and while for Robinson and Henderson the match will have provided some much needed match action, after a few shaky outings in recent weeks after starting strong many Liverpool fans would have preferred to see Wisdom given the week off in the hope it might help him regain his focus.

And most importantly for Liverpool fans, all four players involved on Tuesday return to the club unscathed and in contention to play roles come Saturday when Wigan come to Anfield.
