Boo-Ya! Every once in a while The Crystal Ball is wrong--OK, every time, but thankfully it was wrong in a good way today. I would say that this was a surprise win, but with the team's current form, it shouldn't have been. But like I said before, we just have not performed well when visiting Bolton.

Goals:

The first goal of the match came when Steven Gerrard sent a shot just wide of the post in the 12'. Bolton's keeper, Jussi Jaaskelainen, must have not had his bearings as he dove to deflect the shot. The ball bounced forward and had enough backspin left to creep across the line.

Ryan Babel looked dangerous through the entire match, applying constant pressure. His efforts were rewarded when a bad clearance by Bolton sent the ball straight to him while he was in a perfect striking position in the 60'.

Fabio Aurelio reminded us that he has one hell of a left foot when he made a powerful strike from the top of the box after a corner at 75'.

At 79', Tamir Cohen scored a header from a corner kick and eliminated the clean sheet for Liverpool, but wouldn't be enough to rally Bolton.

To sum it up:

As big as my man crush is for Fernando Torres, it's great to see other players stepping up and scoring goals. The entire team needs to be a threat, not just one or two players. Babel was playing well and should only get better. It'll be interesting to see what kind of player he and Lucas Leiva grow to be. Lucas, who apparently has multiple offers coming in for him, was not even on the bench. We'll more than likely see him Wednesday when West Ham comes over to play. Bwahahha...
