Anfield Banter: Adam Hammill hat trick & nothing much else

There's really nothing new going on in LFC world, nothing major that is. The Giorgio Chiellini talk seems to be gaining some momentum, Crouchy is whining about the lack of recognition for his accomplishments, there's that Man U fella that I won't talk about anymore, Kuyt voicing his desire for a quick start for the team, and 'modest' Fernando Torres prefers EasyJet over a charter flight. Like I said, much ado about nothing.

And then there's Adam Hammill, following his debut with Southampton against Eastleigh, where I erroneously reported that he didn't score when he actually did, netted three more times against virtually inexistent Norwegian side Svarstad last night. I say 'inexistent' because it appears that most have never heard of the club and apparently they had to borrow players from other clubs just to have enough to compete. Though not exactly a quality opponent, it was still good to see Hammill find the net a few times in a 12-0 Saints rout. The 19-year-old got to play both right and left wing and has George Burley and staff pretty excited about having him on board for the year. I hope he stays fit and helps Southampton return to the Premiership.

I'll be back in a bit to preview the Werder Bremen friendly which starts in under five hours. Torres is expected to make his debut.
