If reports are correct, Ryan Babel will be in Liverpool tomorrow for a medical. Wow, that was fast. Apparently the 20-year-old striker/left winger has expressed strong interest in joining LFC. Surprisingly, it appears Ajax will be letting him go for the £6.75m initial offer with performance clauses increasing the deal to upwards of £10m. Babel's agent has said that no contract terms have been reached, but shouldn't be that large of a hurdle.
I'm pretty blown away right now to tell you the truth. I actually thought this was some sort of leverage maneuver and not a serious bid, but apparently not. Hopefully we'll lock this kid down to a long term deal as well and not have any more issues on the left or up front for a long, long time. If and when this becomes official, I wonder what'll happen with Harry Kewell?
