In Platini's defense (did I just write that?), he was never the catalyst in pointing the finger at Liverpool fans. It was UEFA spokesman William Gaillard, who should probably not be a spokesman anymore. So Platini and British sports minister Richard Caborn make peace, great, but everything is not all right just yet. Problems need to be addressed on all sides, but I doubt UEFA will change their ways, so what's the point?
Here's a great write-up about the whole thing, including a detail list of recent football related violence where people were actually injured or killed by other fans (not police), none of which involve Liverpool, and what we as Liverpool fans can do to try and change UEFA's ways.
