Weekend Action

With our first team having the weekend off, there's still other fixtures involving the kids and players out on loan. First up, is the first leg of the FA Youth Cup Semifinals at Newcastle on Saturday. Here's to Ryan Flynn, Robbie Threlfall, Stephen Darby, Craig Lindfield, Astrit Ajdarevic, Ray Putterrill, and Company taking one step closer to bringing home our second consecutive and third overall FA Youth Cup.

Dunfermline continues their new love affair with Adam Hammill. It's now gotten to the point where they're writing songs about him. They face St. Mirren on Saturday.

Also on Saturday, Southampton travels to Brittania Stadium in Stoke-on-Trent to take on the Potters in Championship action. Hopefully Danny Guthrie will get his first start. Stoke City features former Reds Dominic Matteo and Salif Diao.

Florent Sinama-Pongolle travels to Getafe with Recreativo Huelvo on Sunday. I doubt we'll ever see Florent in a Liverpool kit again, but he's still officially there on loan. The 22-year-old is having his best year as a pro with 7 goals and 3 assists in 22 matches. It's really no surprise since his stature and abilities are better built for the Spanish game.

Finally, Djibril Cissé and Marseille face Lyon on Sunday. I have mixed feelings regarding Djibril. On one hand, he's probably a better finisher than what we have on our team now and his passing ability is quite underrated, the problem with him is that he's temperamental and stubborn. Not to mention, he's not very keen to play defense. If we brought him back, I wouldn't really mind, but it would have be with a zero tolerance clause regarding his behavior.
