The Legend of Dietmar Hamann

When Didi strolled on to the field after half-time that particular night in Istanbul, everything changed. Who would have known that a holding midfielder regarded for his defensive prowess, simple yet dead-on passes, and the occassional rare stunner, would be the catalyst of one of the greatest comebacks in football history? What's even more amazing is he did it on a broken foot. Our superstars may get all the credit, but true fans and lovers of this game know who the great players are and the Kaiser gave his all when he wore our jersey. For that, he's probably my favorite player of all-time, and I don't doubt Germany would have won the World Cup last year if Klinnsman had enough sense to put him on the squad. Here's a video showcasing just some of the midfielder's abilities.
