Stevie G interview in The Times. Money quote -
BenÍtez’s tinkering is a cause for concern, but Gerrard is as optimistic as one of life’s worriers can be. Football always seems a serious business for the 27-year-old, but he promises that his permanent half-frown masks a growing contentment at how his life and career are panning out.
Benayoun does what he was bought for. Money quote from Rafa:
"I brought him here for these kind of games. When you are trying to find a solution, you need players of creativity and quality, and Yossi gives us that. I am not saying he will start every game on the bench, it's just that in this instance I wanted to do different things. Yossi played the other night (in the Carling Cup against Reading) and I needed fresh legs, so I started with (Jermaine) Pennant. We created some chances and you need to take them if you want an open game. Because we didn't we needed to bring on players with different skills and Yossi was good, it was perfect."
More on rotation from The Independent. No money quote because the whole Rafa rotation thing is a little boring.
Previous poster Brian wonders if Harry Kewell (crazy like a fool) should get a new contract.
Anyone know anything about this Gerardo Bruna kid we gazuumped from Real Madrid. Apparently he's the next Maradona, Messi and Fabregas all rolled into one but I have seen a video...if you'd seen one, please chuck the link in the comments. Same goes with Irish wunderkind James McCarthy.
Cheers all!
