Rumour Mongering: Andre Wisdom Reportedly Heading to West Brom on Loan

After a season on loan in England's second division, Andre Wisdom is reportedly set to spend the 2014-2015 campaign with West Brom in the Premier League.

Andre Wisdom was one of Liverpool's more consistent performers on loan this past season, featuring regularly for Derby County after joining last fall. Steve McLaren brought the young defender in during the month of October and slotted him straight into the starting eleven; early indications were that Wisdom would be working on his development as both fullback and central defender, but Derby's needs and his form meant that he spent the entirety of his loan on the right as part of a side that narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League.

Had they defeated QPR in a playoff final they dominated, it would be likely that Wisdom would be heading back to the East Midlands again in some capacity. But with a season in the Championship already under his belt and Liverpool intent on getting him top-flight experience yet again, it's now reported that he'll be spending the season at West Bromwich, who should be able to offer regular minutes at the back.

It's easy to forget that Wisdom already has a healthy amount of first-team experience at Liverpool after being forced into action during Brendan Rodgers' first season as manager. As you'd expect for a 19-year-old playing out of position, he had his ups and downs, but he generally acquitted himself very well, showing enough promise that the club would commit to ensuring he'd have opportunities at regular action in some shape or form. He started last season in the senior squad, featuring twice before he joined up at Derby.

Hopefully this continues his progress, and that there's little drop-of in his form as the level of competition increases. Now 21, he's set for an important season in his young career--if this goes as planned, all involved should once again reap the benefits.
