I'm not Irish. I'm Dutch... and 1/8th Scottish (it's close enough?). My wife though... is Polish / Irish (her mom's maiden name is Patrick)! So, every year, for a long time, she has done a "traditional" St. Patty's day meal for her friends. We have continued this tradition since we got married. So here's how it works:
1. Provided: Food.
2. Admission: Beer/Liquor to share, preferably Irish in nature.
3. Profit?
So here's the menu so far this year:
-Corned Beef (cooked in Guinness)
-Cabbage (Still trying to decide how to cook this this year... )
-Mashed potatoes (Dyed green...because why not?)
-Thinking about doing Colcannon, but it seems a little redundant.
Here's my questions to ya'll. Love the international aspect of TLO and I'm going to take full advantage of that here:
1. What, if anything, do you do for St. Patrick's Day?
2. Any recipe / food suggestions? I'd like to change it up since we've done the Corned beef, cabbage & potatoes every year. Specifically looking for a different way to do the cabbage
3. Favorite Irish themed beverage?
Get after it you TLO food bloggers!!
