The Suarez release clause mystery revealed




I just came across this article from the Liverpool Echo which finally sheds the truth on whether or not Suarez had a release clause written into his contract.

I'm not so sure anyone doubted the fact but what I like about these few words from FSG's John W Henry is that he shows how the world of football and player's contracts was not something he had encountered before. Contracts are usually binding in any area of business,including the world of sport yet for some reason they seem to be held with little regard by players and clubs alike. I say clubs but really it is more about the clubs that want to take a player from another club and do so without the need to honor a player's contract.

What a crazy practice it must seem to a man who understands the world of business ethics and now finds himself knee deep in the unethical bs of football contracts.

I have a lot more respect for John W Henry upon reading the short article but already I held him in high hopes ever since the famous
