Midweek matches are for losers and flunkies, mostly, unless they're for Die Meister, Die Besten, Les Grandes Équipes, The Champions, in which case they're okay by me. Today marks the start of the third round of group play in the Champions League, and ahead of the reverse fixtures there's going to be a handful of teams looking to get themselves in position for the run-in.
Arsenal's been painfully impressive both domestically and on the continent, and they're the current Group of Death leaders on six points, three clear of Napoli and today's opponents, Borussia Dortmund. Napoli will look to keep pace away to Marseille, who are yet to earn any points in what was supposed to be the competition's most challenging group. There's also Barcelona's visit to the San Siro on offer, as well as Schalke hosting Chelsea in Group E. Celtic Park is always worth a check-in on European nights, and tonight their side will need a win over Ajax if they're going to climb back into the qualification picture in Group H.
