Liverpool's Internationals Matchday: Moses and Nigeria Visit Ethiopia in CAF Qualifying

Anesh Debiky

World Cup qualifying continues for Liverpool's internationals, with Victor Moses and Nigeria visiting Ethiopia in the first leg of their CAF playoff first leg.

The weekend wraps up with only one of Liverpool's internationals in action on the heels of what's been a fairly busy last few days. Tomorrow will bring a brief respite before Tuesday sees out the October break, and we're that much closer to league play getting back in full swing. Also to next summer's World Cup, but that's sort of beside the point.

Full previews for all today's action from a Liverpool point of view can be found here.

Unlike Lucas and Kolo Toure yesterday, we should expect to see Victor Moses in the starting eleven today, as he's been an important piece of a Nigeria squad that should be heavily favored against Ethiopia. There's recent history here, with Nigeria defeating Ethiopia 2-0 in January's ACON, but tomorrow's hosts will be looking to carry the momentum from the earlier stages in qualifying, which included a group-topping effor over the likes of South Africa in the last round. Moses should start on the left for the visitors, and he'll look to give Nigeria an advantage before they return home to host the second leg next month.
